Frequently asked questions
How do I work out what I need on the final?
Required = (target − current score × weight completed) ÷ weight remaining. The tool does this and flags anything above 100% as unreachable rather than quietly returning a number you cannot score.
What do the weights mean?
The share of the whole course each assessment is worth. They should add to 100 once everything is assessed. If your assignments are 40% and the exam 60%, enter those rather than the raw marks.
What if the target is unreachable?
The figure will exceed 100%. That is worth knowing early: it is the point to either revise the target down or talk to the department about options, rather than discovering it after the exam.
